JU admission 2026-27: start date, centres and pending decisions.

Jahangirnagar University Admission 2026-27: Tests 10–21 January, No Divisional Centres

Jahangirnagar University (JU) will hold its 2026-27 admission tests from Sunday 10 to Thursday 21 January 2027 on campus (Banglatribune and Dhaka Tribune, 28 October 2026). The big change is the venue: divisional-city centres are dropped, which means the tests return to the campus.

How many units there will be, which sits on which day, what the fee is and what the paper looks like are not decided yet and will follow. The 10–21 January window is therefore the only firm fact on this page; the rest is planning.

No divisional centres — what it means for you

A candidate from outside Dhaka will now have to come to the JU campus at Savar. Applying to several units means arranging a stay of several days, and on test mornings the traffic on the Dhaka–Aricha highway needs a margin. It is worth lining up a place to stay with relatives or friends now.

Holding the tests on campus has one possible upside: with papers and scripts handled in one place, results could come faster. That is our reading, not the university’s statement.

What to look for when units and rules are announced

  • The number and names of units — whether last year’s structure survives.
  • Which unit sits on which day, within 10–21 January.
  • Whether a written section joins the MCQ, and the negative marking.
  • Whether second-timers may apply, and the minimum GPA.

The other tests around mid-January

Inside JU’s 10–21 January window fall RUET (14 January, tentative), Jagannath University’s B unit (15 January) and Rajshahi University’s humanities A unit (16 January, as reported by the press). Straight after 21 January come Jagannath’s C and D units (22 and 23 January) and CUET (23 January, tentative). As soon as JU publishes its unit days, check them against these — and if two land on one day, decide your priority in advance.
