Khulna is a divisional city, but in education-board terms it does not have a board of its own — its colleges fall under the Jashore Education Board. That single fact confuses a lot of applicants, because here the board and the division are not the same thing.

In practice this creates no obstacle: the central application does not care about boards, and Khulna’s colleges appear under Jashore’s roster. But when you go looking for a notice or a result you go to the Jashore board’s site, not a Khulna one — because there is no such board.

The second thing that sets Khulna apart is scale. The district has noticeably fewer colleges than Rajshahi or Chattogram, so applications concentrate on the good ones. Fewer options also means a badly ordered list costs more here than elsewhere.

How to use this list

Because Khulna has fewer colleges, a mis-ordered list does more damage here. Filling all ten choices with the city’s top names makes going unselected in the first phase a real possibility — keep at least three where your result is clearly more than enough.

When you go looking for a notice or a result, go to the Jashore board’s website. Any site calling itself the “Khulna Education Board” is unofficial, and during the season sites like that are exactly where wrong dates come from.

Daulatpur, Khalishpur and the city centre feel close together, but the commute still has to match the shift. Work out, before you enrol, how early you would have to leave your area to make a morning-shift class.

A quick self-check before you finalise a Khulna list

Before you submit, check three things against every college: whether your stream is taught there, how easily you can get there from home, and how realistic your own GPA makes a place. If any one fails, give that slot to a different college.

The result of this check often shortens the list, and that is a good sign. Seven names chosen with thought do more for you than ten names filled in for the sake of it, provided at least one of the seven is close to certain for you.

Finally, do not settle the list alone. Read the order through once with a parent or teacher; an outside pair of eyes often catches a mistake that your own would miss.

Class XI admission 2026-27 — every phase and its date

About 995,230 students applied in phase 1; 980,815 were placed on the merit list and 14,415 got no college at all — 2,205 of them with a GPA of 5. After migration 853,441 were finally selected against 2,601,779 seats, so the students left out were short of a well-built choice list, not of seats.
